Pleasant 'lean' collaboration with client

Dutch Sealant Applications (DSA Netherlands) was also involved in the construction of mobility hub Elements in Haarlem. The company specializes in liquid-tight and liquid-resistant sealants.

DSA provides clients with a complete sealing concept tailored to their needs with well-founded advice. To this end, the company cooperates with a number of manufacturers of quality adhesives, sealants and coatings. The company's activities include sealants, floor renovations, coating floors, sealing systems, inspection and maintenance. In the construction of mobility hub Elements in Haarlem, DSA provided the precast concrete slabs on the steel structure with concrete mortar between the joints. They were then sealed watertight. "It was a great project for us," says Stef Wattez of DSA. "We spent almost ten weeks working on it with three or four people."

DSA has worked regularly with client Continental Car Parks for many years. They are currently working together on projects as well. How that process works? Wattez: "We get the order and together with all the subcontractors we make a lean planning based on a lean session. And that planning usually works out pretty well. At Continental Car Parks, everything is prepared tremendously well. During construction, there is also close contact between project management and execution."

Special kit

DSA uses a special sealant for its work: based on polysulfide. This high-quality sealant is chemically resistant and defects are easily repaired. Adhesive and sealant manufacturers are also suffering from the scarcity of materials due to a shortage of raw materials. "As a result, we have been facing sharp price increases for two years now. There are also not that many suppliers who supply this sealant, so we have to short-circuit everything well with our suppliers. Fortunately, we haven't had to sell no yet."
