In 40 years, the Belgian company Aliplast Aluminium Systems has become one of the most important international players in the development and production of aluminum systems for windows, doors, verandas, sliding doors and curtain walls. "From idea to mold drawing, from press post to surface treatment and from coating and insulation to transport to our manufacturers: at Aliplast everything happens under one roof," says Sales Manager Netherlands Marc Mulders. "This allows us to serve customers even better, in all their projects. From residential construction to utility construction and from traditional to prefabricated, where far-reaching customization is possible." As an example, he mentions the bending of frame profiles and curtain walls in different radii, giving projects a special extra dimension.
In addition to its own bending department, Aliplast has its own welding department, where the bent and straight profiles are carefully welded together to form complete frames. Thanks to this method, the risk of water infiltration is zero, Mulders said. "Because the frame is delivered completely finished, customers have nothing to worry about. All the machining has already been done, so customers are completely relieved."
Because the frame products are powder coated only after the profiles are bent and the frames are welded, the finest finish is obtained, he emphasizes. "Miters are never perpendicular, which means that with a different treatment order, gaps and sections without paintwork are always visible. Our treatment method prevents this and makes us unique in the market."
Another special feature of Aliplast's coating process is that 2 instead of 1 gram of the products are stained as standard (double staining). "This allows us to apply our powder coating to a cleaner product and ensures optimal paint quality in all conditions," Mulders said. "Not for nothing do we provide a 15 (standard colors) and 25-year (Timeless Colors and Pure Texture) warranty on our coatings."
A great reference for Aliplast's bending and welding department is Park Folclaghe in the Frisian lake district, which consists of sixteen floating and four ground-level recreational homes with a very modern and luxurious look. Commissioned by Aluminiumbouw G. Peters, Aliplast realized 24 round windows that give the recreational homes a nautical character. "Halfway through the round windows, we welded a T-pillar into the frames, allowing the upper part to be executed as a sash window," says Mulders. "This ensures good ventilation of the recreational homes." At the base of the round windows is the Aliplast Star 75 series.
Following the round windows, Aliplast also supplied the other windows and doors for Park Folclaghe, including the large sliding doors. "All window frames are finished in a standard black color (9004TC), which contrasts nicely with the other facade materials. A matte texture provides a luxurious look in this regard."
In Huijbergen, the new building of stables Wolfshoeve was recently completed, which is the first stables in the Netherlands with two floors. The building is constructed of concrete and steel and equipped with sandwich elements and a brick cladding. Most striking is the main entrance, which is reminiscent of a country house and features arched windows in several places. "There are nine curved windows in total, and we also added three T-pillars at the front," Mulders says. "A strong piece of craftsmanship that enhances the exclusive look of the equestrian center. At the base of the curved windows is our Star 75 system, finished in an anthracite gray color (7016TC) and in matte structure."
Commaxx's new headquarters in Kerkrade stands out not only because of its unusual color scheme, but also because of a combination of straight and curved facade elements that is harmoniously reflected in the window frames and curtain walls. "Both Aliplast MC Wall curtain walls and Star75 windows and doors were used in the new headquarters," Mulders says. "Although standard profiling was used, this project still involves customization. In fact, the profiles on the entrance side were bent in our own bending department and exactly in the radius of the building. This gives the special design by DENC architects even more cachet." In this project, a finish in 'Kieselgrau' was chosen. "This copper-gold color fits perfectly with the color shades in the facade and completes the overall look."
