Sustainable and financially beneficial: 400 rooftop PV panels

DenG Solar is a total supplier of solar power projects. The company provides advice, makes business plans and laying plans, installs everything and provides maintenance. It covers corporate and government buildings with 250 to 10,000 panels. Only high-quality and safe solar panels, inverters and mounting materials are used. "We install everything according to the latest standards and requirements of insurance companies. There are increasingly higher requirements and we are exactly aware of them," says Theo Mostert, owner of DenG Solar.

Mostert sees more and more schools pursuing sustainability, including Leonardo College. His company has been around for eight years now, and in that time he has built a clientele ranging from large to small clients. "Besides the sustainability aspect, we find it important that it pays off for the customer. The payback period for PV panels, depending on the energy price, is 7.5 to 8.5 years. The subsidy project runs for 15 years and the panels last about 25 years in our climate."

If a school or business wants to generate additional yield, it is smart to choose BiFacial panels on a white bitumen roof. These panels produce on both sides and are particularly effective when there is limited space available on the roof. "This way, we can still generate sufficient yield and new construction can meet strict sustainability requirements," Mostert said.
