The solutions of Isocab by Kingspan - such as insulated sandwich panels - have been building the ideal conditions for the production, storage or sale of goods for more than 50 years. Both at positive and negative temperatures.

Our insulated sandwich panels consist of two steel plates with an insulating core in between. This core consists of rock wool (Decaroc sandwich panels) or from our proprietary QuadCore rigid foam (QuadCore IND sandwich panels). The panels are available in different thicknesses, lengths, colors and coatings. So you choose the panel that best suits the circumstances of your project.

In addition, you can also contact us for smoke shutters, flat roof solutions, acoustic panels, commercial doors and insulated doors, among others.

Whichever solution you choose, you can rely on these benefits:

1. Reliable fire safety

Fire response

Our insulated sandwich panels are extensively tested for their fire performance, such as in terms of fire reaction. For example, panels with QuadCore core have a fire reaction class B-s1,d0 according to EN 13501-1:2018 and this for panel thicknesses from 60 to 200mm. Our stone wool panels are classified as A2-s1, d0, in accordance with EN 13501-1: 2018 for panel thicknesses from 60 to 300mm.

That is, both types of panels do not contribute to the phenomenon of flashover in which a fire spreads from one room to another. This is partly because the panels do not lose burning particles that could rapidly spread the fire. In addition, QuadCore and Decaroc sandwich panels produce virtually no smoke in the event of a fire, which is of great benefit to the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Fire resistance

Tests show that QuadCore IND and Decaroc sandwich panels score well in terms of fire resistance. The panels maintain their integrity on contact with fire for up to 4 hours (EI240), depending on the application and panel thickness.

The example refers to Decaroc Sandwich panels with rock wool insulation core with a panel thickness of 300mm. These panels present a fire resistance EI240.

FM Approval

Both Decaroc and QuadCore IND panels are FM Approved:

Decaroc sandwich panels have a FM Global Approval 4880 for partition and ceiling and 4881 for wall under the name Decaroc Agro-Alimentaire.
Isocab QuadCore IND sandwich panels have a FM Global Approval 4882/4881/4880 (40-220 mm) certification under the name Isocab Industrial Agro-Alimentaire (IND).

2. Strong thermal insulation values

The lambda value of QuadCore IND sandwich panels is 0.018 W/m.K according to our CE label. This offers many opportunities in the energy-efficient construction of buildings in the food, pharmaceutical and cold storage sectors. For example, QuadCore sandwich panels are up to 10% thinner than our PIR panels for the same insulation value.

Compared to Decaroc panels, QuadCore IND sandwich panels are up to 57% thinner for the same insulation value. In addition, QuadCore IND panels are much lighter than Decaroc panels for similar thermal performance.

3. Responsible environmental choice

QuadCore IND Sandwich panels have good product-specific EPD ratings. Decaroc and Industrial IND panels are rated in the EPDs of the industry association PPA-Europe. The QuadCore foam also contains no halogen retardants, CFCs, HFCs nor fibers, and has a VOC rating of A (Volatile Organic Compounds emissions rating: no fine particles).
