600 tons of steel for construction of high-rise warehouse

Therefore, Tasche Staalbouw is also often contacted by general contractors for steel structures. Thus, the specialist from Albergen was also involved in the realization of the automated high-rise warehouse for Eurol in Almelo. 

"This is a relatively simple hall with an area of 12,500 m². But it is 19 meters high, which does bring with it the necessary challenges. Since we were contacted by the main contractor at an early stage, we were able to participate in the design of the steel structure. We were responsible for the engineering and production of a powder-coated steel structure, representing a total of some 600 tons of steel," says Coen Wesselink, company manager and also project manager at Tasche Staalbouw. "Our own assembly teams handled the installation on site. We thought carefully about the best way to assemble and decided to build the structure from the four corners. The components of the structure were produced in several stages and then delivered just-in-time to the construction site. The freights were well divided so that the assemblers were delivered exactly the elements they needed for assembly. Good preparation and communication were decisive for a perfect result here."

At Tasche, they know exactly how to tackle such a project. The family business has now been active in steel construction and barn design for 85 years. "Our steel construction department specializes in the engineering, production, delivery and assembly of steel structures for industrial halls, livestock buildings, utility buildings and residential construction," Wesselink concludes. "Everything is subjected and produced using 3D modeling, which reduces the risk of errors to an absolute minimum."
