In Stolwijk, Parel in de Polder symbolizes a new standard in sustainable building. The expansion of the De Vries en Verburg office proves that innovation and environmental awareness reinforce each other. Pieter-Bas Bovee, technical director at Wijnveen Aluminiumbouw, says: "With our solutions we have really contributed to a unique and sustainable project. We are proud of that."
Wijnveen Aluminium Building has a rich history. What began in 1897 as a sawmill grew into a renowned family business specializing in aluminum window frames and facade structures. "Our core values - perfection, innovation and sustainability - are reflected in every project," says Bovee. Wijnveen Aluminiumbouw provides customers in the Netherlands with high-quality facade products and innovative solutions for future-proof buildings.
At Pearl in the Polder, Wijnveen Aluminiumbouw played a crucial role in the engineering, production and assembly of the aluminum window frames and curtain walls. "We chose Ultra Low Carbon Aluminum from Schüco, which emits about 68% less CO2 than standard profiles," Bovee explains. This aluminum was combined with ORAÉ glass, the most sustainable glass on the market. "This is very special, because it is the first time these materials have been used in the Netherlands in a certified way." The wooden rear construction of laminated oak shows the project's sustainable ambitions. "Combining aluminum with wood and advanced glass was technically challenging, but essential to achieve the high sustainability goals."
Close cooperation with partners such as De Vries en Verburg and Jansen Herveld BV was essential to the success of this project. "Everyone contributed to achieving the best result," said Bovee. "This project shows that sustainability and craftsmanship can go hand in hand."
The completion of Pearl in the Polder is almost a reality, with only a few finishing touches left to be added, but for Wijnveen Aluminiumbouw, this is only the beginning. Bovee concludes, "We continue to think ahead. Every project offers new opportunities to raise the bar for sustainability even higher."
