The building to be built will allow for more efficient operations and more space to produce multiple projects simultaneously.
Stacon is a manufacturer of metal bracing. To be prepared for the future, it opted for a substantial 4,000-square-meter production hall with an integrated office at the front. To support the production processes, the hall will be equipped with three crane girders. Initially, Stacon planned to take on the role of general contractor for the construction of the industrial building itself. Therefore, with the help of a structural engineer, it put the subcontracts on the market and selected the subsidiary contractors itself. When it lacked the time to continue this task, it engaged Manfred Borreman of Utiliteitsbouw Profs, who took over construction management as a construction consultant and construction supervisor.

The premises will be built traditionally. A steel structure ensures that the hall is column-free and provides space for Stacon's substantial metalworking machines. Stacon supplies the typesetting itself. "At the time I came into the picture, the drawings were not yet final," Borreman says. "My job was mainly to make a team out of all the side contractors. All noses had to point in one direction. An important part then is defining the gray areas. We formulated for everyone what is and is not expected of them. That makes for a smoothly running construction process."

During the construction process, Borreman arranges construction meetings with the largest players every four weeks. The smaller players join in the moment they contribute. Borreman: "These often join with the whole team. An efficient way of working; everyone then has the same information." And on the approach with a construction manager: "The owners of Stacon now have their hands free to run the company. I take over all contacts, take charge when necessary and keep the owners informed of what's going on. This saves Stacon time and money."

'Nice feat of installation engineering in a short time'
For the new construction of Stacon in Nieuwleusen, Breman Utiliteit Zwolle BV is responsible for the complete installation technology. The majority of this will be realized in a short period of time.
Breman Utiliteit Zwolle has been involved in Stacon's new building plans since the design stage. In September 2020, the order followed for the execution of all technical installations. "In the hall we are installing the heat pump, floor heating, LED lighting and machine connections," says project manager Wim Holstege of Breman Utiliteit Zwolle. "The office we provide with a heat pump, underfloor heating and air treatment. We are also installing a transformer station, performing the plumbing and realizing the installations for data, access control, intrusion protection and fire alarms. In the context of sustainability, there will be charging stations for electric cars and solar panels on the roof." Breman Utiliteit Zwolle installed the office sewer system last year. Work has been fully underway since mid-February. "We are delivering a nice piece of installation engineering in a short time," says Holstege. "In mid-May we will deliver."
