Enjoying the skyline of The Hague at The Harbour Club

Good or bad weather, on the roof terrace of The Harbour Club The Hague you can always enjoy the view thanks to the Solarlux SDL Akzent Plus conservatory measuring 27.5 meters long and 4.20 meters deep. If the sun shines, the awning fabric provides the necessary cooling. Goes Serres installed no less than 150 m2 of fabric there, divided into nine separate screens. The entire front and side walls can be opened to their full width with folding walls mounted on a parapet. In warm weather, the conservatory then effectively becomes one large covered terrace. In winter, the conservatory offers extra comfort because it consists of thermally insulated aluminum profiles. Because of the large amount of glass, the sun is a natural source of energy and a pleasant indoor climate is quickly created.

Installing the greenhouse was a challenge for Goes Serres because of the height and lack of space, says John van der Goes. "We covered the entire terrace and had to lift all the materials onto the roof with cranes. On a flat roof in front of the terrace we built scaffolding, to work safely. We couldn't bring the glazing up with cranes, so we had to do that by hand."

Another challenge was the time limit. The greenhouse had to be built in nine days because an opening party was planned. Unfortunately, this did not go ahead due to corona. Van der Goes: "Still, we met those nine days. And fortunately, the restaurant was still able to open in June 2020."
