Flexible to the best solution

It is the middle of 2021 when Modderkolk from Wijchen is approached for a challenging project: Fruity Line in Ochten is starting the construction of a new logistics center. At that time, the producer of juices and smoothies had not yet found a party for the electrical work. Because of the good cooperation in previous projects, Modderkolk was approached for this great challenge. The electrical work is now in full swing.

Modderkolk is active in industrial automation and electrical engineering. Project Manager Erwin van Eldijk: "Modderkolk was involved in the project at an early stage as a knowledge partner. The objective here was to lay out the electrical installation in the most efficient way possible, with sufficient flexibility and expansion possibilities for the future. The contract was then awarded to us on the basis of the best design."

Challenging project

Normally, electrical engineering is involved early in such a project. For this assignment, however, this was different. Because the building involved a large number of suppliers for cooling systems, production lines, hygiene sluices, AGV systems, etc., among other things, the final design of the electrical installations could not be completed until the new logistics center was already largely
section stood. 

When completed, the installation will consist of two main distributors of 1,000 A and 3,600 A respectively, using various Busbar systems. From these two main distributors Modderkolk provides the complete power supply within the distribution center. Facilities installations such as earthing and lighting and data installations will also be provided. In addition, the building will be equipped with a BMS with which the entire lighting system can be regulated and operated from a central point, depending on the use of the building. 

The electrical installations are the connecting factor within this new construction complex. Good coordination and cooperation with the other construction partners and the client is therefore essential, Van Eldijk concludes. "We are confident that together with the other construction partners we will deliver a beautiful project for Fruity Line!"
