Steel door-frame combinations for residential towers Zalmhaven Rotterdam

The 485 apartments of residential towers De Zalmhaven I (highrise), II and III (midrise) in Rotterdam will be fitted with steel Daloc door-frame combinations. Commissioned by BAM Bouw en Techniek - Grote Projecten, HSE is handling the planning, delivery and assembly of the residential access combinations.

"The Daloc door-frame combinations are unique in the market," emphasizes Daniel van Winsen, founder/owner and commercial director of HSE. "This is because they are developed, produced and certified as a set, including frame, lock, hinges and composite sill. Moreover, the door-frame combinations meet all major requirements in terms of fire (EW30 and EW60), noise (38-50 dB) and burglar resistance (SKG3). Daloc door-frame combinations are made of steel, a material that has little or no deformation. Once a door is installed, it will not hang easily. Also, the door can take a beating and requires little or no maintenance. Cold, drafts, smoke, moisture and unpleasant odors are efficiently kept out. Not for nothing do door-frame combinations find eager acceptance in high-rise projects."

The Daloc door-frame combinations are produced in Sweden, based on pre-arranged dimensions. "Normally HSE takes care of the complete logistics process, with the products being delivered just-in-time to the construction site," says Van Winsen. "However, due to the complexity of this project, it was decided to transport the products directly from Sweden to BAM Bouw en Techniek's hub in Rotterdam, from where the contractor takes care of transport to the construction site as well as the appropriate floors of the residential towers. HSE does, however, handle the assembly of the door-frame combinations." The first Daloc door-frame combinations have already been assembled, he says. The last elements will be installed just before the 2021 construction period.

About HSE

HSE started 15 years ago as a renovation company, but is now also in high demand in new construction projects. "We work mostly on behalf of contractor parties," Van Winsen explains. "For example, in (large-scale) housing projects, for which we provide all kinds of construction, facade and interior carpentry and roofing work as a project partner. We are skilled, flexible and like to think with you about the best suited project approach, with satisfied clients and residents as a result."
