Brouw en de Bode concrete construction was called in to make the "in situ substructure" for residential tower 70LUX in Zoetermeer. A complex job, especially since the residential tower ended up being seventy meters high.
Brouw en de Bode betonbouw has been active for fifteen years in the pouring of fully reinforced concrete structures, such as basement construction, (high-rise) utility construction and sports construction in South-West Netherlands. Here, clients, including large national and smaller regional contractors, are completely taken care of by the company's approximately thirty employees.
Gert-Jan de Bode: "STATON Bouw has been one of our clients for years. We continue to grow together in ever larger construction projects. For this project we were commissioned to realize the in situ (wet) substructure. We poured the first four floors in situ: the foundation, the parking garage and the commercial plinth. Because of the height of the tower (70 meters), there is a large foundation pit under the building. In this, 750 m3 of concrete was processed. For Brouw and de Bode, this was the largest pile we poured at one time." Once the pile driving was complete, Brouw and de Bode began installing the foundation, concrete walls and concrete floors. "Due to the high weight of the final building, we worked with high-strength concrete (C70/85) in several columns and walls. This has its challenges during its processing."
De Bode looks back on the project with satisfaction. "It was a beautiful and complex project; we were working on it for about six months. We do often realize large concrete constructions, but here the logistics created some challenges. After all, the construction site is located at a busy intersection in Zoetermeer."
Together with STATON Bouw, Brouw and de Bode concrete construction is currently working together again on another project, this time in Aalsmeer.
