Dozens of trucks come and go every day at the Cornelissen Group’s new distribution center in Beuningen. To future-proof this operation, Cornelissen opted for a complete solution from ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems: 34 loading docks equipped with the latest Crawford OH1142P Dual Drive doors.

The decision to choose the Crawford OH1142P Dual Drive aligns perfectly with Cornelissen’s sustainability vision, says Ron Waleveld, Business Developer at ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems. “This revolutionary door without a spring assembly can be connected to the ASSA ABLOY Insight Control platform, which offers capabilities for easy management and preventive maintenance. Instead of a spring assembly, the door has motors mounted at the bottom of the door. This design enhances safety for technicians and reduces maintenance costs.”

Not overnight

The construction team did not make the decision regarding the new loading docks lightly. “A visit to other large distribution centers where the Crawford OH1142P dock door is already in use, along with extensive analyses, formed the basis for the decision,” said Waleveld. The insights gained from this process ultimately led to a comprehensive dock solution featuring a Crawford OH1142P Dual Drive insulated overhead door at each dock, traffic lights for traffic control, levelers to ensure a safe transition between the docked trucks and the warehouse floor, shelters to protect against the elements, and a Dock-In safety system, which ensures that the dock doors only open when a truck is actually docked.

All 34 doors can be connected to the ASSA ABLOY Insight Control system. This allows Cornelissen to remotely monitor the doors for malfunctions and maintenance needs, which contributes to more efficient management and enhanced security.
