From its offices in Etten-Leur and Varsseveld, Mucon builds conditioned spaces on a daily basis. From cold and freezer stores to production locations and distribution centers for the meat and fish processing industry and the agricultural sector. "All spaces in which it has to be cold or warm, we can realize from A to Z," says Kees de Jong, general manager of Mucon. "From the advice and design process to delivery, assembly and service and maintenance of freezer doors, refrigeration doors and industrial doors, sandwich panels and wall and floor profiles. Thanks to our involved way of building and because we sec work with A-brand products, customers are assured of optimal service, quality and durability."
"Where theory ends and situations require specific, customized solutions, Mucon's knowledge and expertise comes into its own in the best possible way," De Jong said. "We distinguish ourselves by an involved and approachable attitude. From the mechanics and project leaders in the field to calculators, work planners and management in the office." Mucon employs 35 passionate and experienced people, he says. In addition, the company can rely on several trusted assembly companies that have at least 10-15 years of experience with the company, the products and the approach that is approachable and committed. De Jong himself also has his boots in the car as standard. "I regularly visit projects and actively think with our mechanics, ancillary contractors and customers to determine the best solutions for each project," he says. "No matter how big or small a project is."
For butcher Kaldenberg, Mucon built a completely new location in Vuren in 2016.
Whereas in the past Mucon quoted projects based on ready-made drawings, today the specialist in conditioned spaces is often already involved in a project in the preliminary phase. "In a construction team with the consultant, architect and other specialists, we like to map out the possible products, versions and any challenges," says De Jong. "So that we can even better fulfill the wishes of the end customer. Sustainable, energetic and according to current laws and regulations."
De Jong notices that there are increasing demands on the thermal envelope of a building. "Mucon contributes to this by not only working with the best (A-brand) products, but also by selecting suppliers who value sustainability and circularity. The buildings we realize today all meet the BREEAM requirements. In order to achieve this, we often work with QuadCore™, a hard foam insulation material with a smaller, closed cell structure that is processed in the sandwich panels and which enables us to achieve very high insulation values, better fire safety and better environmental performance. And we also contribute to optimal quality with our structural detailing - the way we build a conditioned space or building."
Mucon invariably works out all projects in BIM. "We also have the BIM information of all our product families available. This information is verified by the manufacturers, so our customers are assured of reliable and up-to-date information."
Freezer house and logistics center for AGRO Merchants Urk.
Since its inception, Mucon has had the opportunity to complete many beautiful and challenging assignments. "Commissioned by B-Built, we recently built a cold store and logistics center for AGRO Merchants Urk. Moreover, last year we realized two distribution centers for Sligro, in Deventer and Maastricht," says De Jong. "Another nice reference is the production location for the Vegetarian Butcher in Breda." Mucon is currently involved in the construction of a large cold store for the American MCA in Dinteloord, for the storage of airplane meals for the international market, and a cold store for The Juice House in Cuijk.
