5 trends for the construction industry: biobased has the future

Last year was an eventful year for the construction industry, partly due to rising material prices. Themes surrounding sustainability, circularity and the Quality Assurance Act also ensure that you as a builder will face challenges in both the short and long term. To prepare you well for this, WEBO has published the article '5 trends for the construction industry' published. The article explains how biobased materials, among other things, can provide a solution to various challenges.

WEBO is a manufacturer of wooden window frames and precast HSB elements, developing sustainable solutions for construction with 2050 as the dot on the horizon. Curious to read the full in-depth article? Check it out for free on the website from WEBO

The trends are briefly explained below:

1. Rising material prices

Due in part to the war in Ukraine, construction costs rose 9 percent for residential builders and 11 percent for nonresidential builders (wages and materials) in 2022. 2. Increase in biobased materials

An important trend is the increase in biobased materials, with wood as the most important material for the construction industry. 5. Quality Assurance Act (Wkb).

An important development in the construction industry is quality assurance. The Quality Assurance Act (Wkb) is currently delayed again, but the new regulations are on the way.
