A healthy indoor environment starts with good design

All relevant product information in one up-to-date software platform

A healthy indoor environment. Anywhere, anytime and for everyone. To meet this ambition, Panflex takes numerous initiatives. In addition to sophisticated product development and innovation, the specialist in flexible smoke extraction systems and ventilation hoses puts high emphasis on cooperation in the chain. Sharing up-to-date and relevant product information in the Uniform Object Library (UOB) and active participation in Binnenklimaat Nederland contribute significantly to this.

As healthy indoor air quality is moving up the agenda for homes, schools, offices and other buildings, interest in Panflex UOB product data is also growing.

The UOB is an initiative of Techniek Nederland, ETIM Netherlands, Ketenstandaard Bouw en Techniek and 2BA, among others. The software platform builds a bridge between CAD systems on the one hand and the 2BA data pool on the other hand. It also ensures better cooperation and clear communication between chain parties. Thanks to the UOB, CAD engineers and BIM modelers can specify their objects using a wide range of ETIM and ETIM-MC structured objects, to which participating manufacturers link all relevant product data. One of these manufacturers is Panflex. "CAD engineers and BIM modelers can find an extensive range of ventilation hoses and silencers in the UOB," says Henry Kale, Account Manager at Panflex. "The objects are enriched by us with all relevant product data, regarding e.g. materials, dimensions and packaging. The wholesalers add their trade information to this, so installers can easily see what they need, how much and at which wholesalers these materials are in stock. In addition, they can easily integrate the objects into their CAD or Revit/BIM drawing program."

Thanks to UOB, installers do not have to search for relevant product data themselves. Also, the data are always up-to-date, Kale emphasizes, minimizing failure costs. "This offers advantages not only in the design and installation phase, but also during management and maintenance." As healthy indoor climate is moving up the agenda for homes, schools, offices and other buildings, Kale also sees growing interest in the Panflex UOB product data. For example, for the realization of Fresh Schools, in which Panflex (insulated) ventilation hoses as well as silencers play an essential role.
