A safe and watertight roof over the head

During the renovation and preservation of the houses in the Bloemenbuurt, not only the facades were thoroughly tackled. Van Muijden Dakbedekking was called in by Vios Bouw to re-insulate the roofs of both the houses and the annexes and to apply a bituminous roof covering. This will give the residents another safe and watertight roof over their heads. The family-owned company was previously involved in the 1st phase of this project and is now collaborating on phase 2.

Van Muijden has been a true roofing company for over 40 years. The Zeist-based specialist is called in for fixing leaks, periodic maintenance, overlaying or additionally insulating roofs, applying bitumen or sedum in new construction or renovation and installing roof terraces and fall protection. "We look for an appropriate solution for each project to ensure that the user has a safe and watertight roof over their head. A shed in the backyard or a home is just as important as the roof of an industrial or utility building as a project," says owner Dik van Muijden. "Our client is an individual, housing association or business owner, but equally a contractor who calls on our knowledge and experience to help realize his project. For example, we were approached by Vios Bouw to participate in the renovation and preservation of the dated homes in the Bloemenbuurt neighborhood."

The homes are being thoroughly tackled, he says. "All the roofs and dormers will be additionally insulated and then covered with an EPDM layer. They will be finished with aluminum cover strips. We will also cover the zinc gutters with a self-adhesive EPDM layer and renovate the balconies. Finally, the roofs of the annexes are re-insulated and are also given a 2-layer bituminous covering. A self-adhesive EPDM strip ensures a perfect connection to the facade here as well. We guarantee that every installation complies perfectly with the applicable regulations."
