Celtic Cooling is a refrigeration company with customer-specific and innovative solutions in the field of refrigeration and freezer cells. The company is engaged in the design, supply and installation of refrigeration and freezer cells. Sales employee Rens Elferink tells how, together with Heembouw Architects, we looked at a cold store for the new distribution center of Nabuurs Logistiek.
From its headquarters in the Netherlands, or one of its regional offices in Africa, Celtic Cooling offers new construction, modernization, service and maintenance of refrigeration installations. And let there just be a need for a high-quality sustainable distribution center on the Businesspark Amsterdam Osdorp. A distribution center for a brewer, in this case AB InBev, must of course also have a suitable cooling installation. Heembouw Architects approached Celtic Cooling with this request.
"For many customers, a refrigeration system is often the final piece of the project," Elferink says. "However, the refrigeration system is often essential to business operations when it comes to conditioned products." After a smooth interaction with Heembouw, Celtic Cooling came up with a proposal. The final product then came about in a number of phases and has now been delivered. To guarantee that everything continues to function well in the future, Celtic Cooling works with an annual maintenance contract.
During the construction of the distribution center there were especially high ambitions in the field of sustainability. Celtic Cooling has therefore installed a refrigeration system that meets the current laws, regulations and environmental requirements in terms of CO2 equivalent. With a view to future CO2 reductions, the people of Celtic Cooling thought along with the technology throughout the project.
The cold room, with a height of nearly 11 meters, is self-supporting and separate from the structure above. "By not hanging 2,000 pounds from the roof, it also keeps the possibility of installing solar panels in the future."
