QLP provides clients with the entire W installation process from start to finish: from surveying what is needed, design and implementation plans to working drawings and realization. The company works mainly in non-residential construction for various clients. Project Manager Joost Roeterdink: "We already knew Vesting Bouw from an earlier project, in which we worked pleasantly together. In 2018, they approached us for this project on Generaal Vetterstraat in Amsterdam: the new C3 office building. We were asked if we would take on the design and realization of the W installation. Then the project came to a standstill for a while, but it eventually came together and we are now working on site."
In the lower level of the parking garage, QLP is installing underfloor heating to prevent construction problems if the floor freezes up. A ventilation system with detection sensors will also be installed.
The building will have an energy-efficient climate system. Roeterdink: "All floors will have underfloor heating, which is linked to a heat pump system. On the roof will be a large heat exchanger installation that provides each office unit with fresh air. We are also installing the drinking water system."
It is not yet known which tenants will move into the building, so for now QLP is installing air, water and sewer in each space. "Once the tenants are known, we will adjust the installations based on the tenants' needs. Of course, we thought about this carefully in advance, to minimize the number of adjustments needed later. The great thing about this project is that we are carrying it out together with Vesting Bouw and can act as a full partner in the construction team. It really is a turnkey project. The client is open to advice, which does make the collaboration special. Construction here is based on trust in the expertise of all construction partners. That's worth a compliment in these times."
