New rental housing is desperately needed. It takes longer than ever to get a social rental home. This is why Wonen Limburg and BAM Wonen have teamed up to provide 25 social rental homes in the beautiful Laarveld residential area in Weert

Prefab builds faster

By building with prefab elements, the homes were completed in a record pace of four months. This strong example of rapid construction meets all forms of sustainable construction. That appeals to FAAY. We are therefore proud that we could do our bit in the form of The Most Sustainable Inner Walls in the Netherlands - made to measure on all floors in all 25 homes.

Speed and quality

Housing corporation Wonen Limburg is the client for the houses in Weert. By building so-called prefab homes, the construction time is reduced from one year to four months. Not only were the facades and roof prefabricated in the factory, but also the Kingsize walls on the ground and second floors and the sloping sawn-off VP70 'FAAY to Measure' in the attic floors.

Jeffry Savelkoul, commercial director south at BAM Wonen: 'In addition to the speed of construction, it is also an advantage that the prefab elements are manufactured in the factory. This allows you to build in conditioned conditions and the quality of the home is also better.'

Most durable wall

The homes are not connected to gas. They are equipped with sustainable installations, such as a heat recovery system and a heat pump. The triple glazing and excellent insulation mean that the houses are truly sustainable. We as FAAY have contributed to this with our sustainable products. After all, we use wood, flax and gypsum as a basis: inexhaustible, environmentally friendly, bio-based materials. Both Kingsize and VP70 are eco-friendly floor-to-ceiling panels consisting of a solid core of flax shives with plasterboard on either side. FAAY's eco-friendly precast walls are a modular system. FAAY is the first wall manufacturer in the world with a take-back option for the circular (flax) core wall. For these reasons - biobased, local, modular and circular - FAAY's partition wall is The Most Sustainable Wall in the Netherlands!

Smart logistics

We cut all the partition walls to size and packaged them in assembly order and delivered them per dwelling. The Kingsize walls for the ground and second floor are also equipped with electrical supplies. This means that there is no waste left on site during assembly. This allowed for faster and more productive work and minimized the risk of errors. The just-in-time delivery also meant that no storage space was needed on the construction site. In short: for smart, fast and sustainable construction, FAAY is the partner of choice.
