Flexible ventilation hoses with an antibacterial coating prevent bacteria and mold from entering the air. For this, Panflex works with nanosilver particles that have a purifying effect. It also has no harmful effects on the environment," says Henry Kale, account manager at Panflex. It has been used within hospitals for a long time, for example in floors, handles and switches. It has therefore long been known that silver particles work effectively against more than 600 pathogenic bacteria, fungi, yeasts and parasites. Because the silver is toxic to them and kills them instantly, they cannot develop immunity. "The product has been around for a long time, but has not yet been used in ventilation techniques in this way," Kale continues. "The silver particles are encapsulated in a polymer capsule, so they cannot be released and do not decompose."
Panflex supplies various products to wholesalers, such as ventilation hoses with or without insulation, with or without antibacterial action and with or without noise reduction. Because the latter is also something that is very important, Kale knows. "We have acoustic hoses that contain tiny little holes on the inner jacket, which minimizes noise. We also give advice on how to prevent noise pollution. For example, the low tones of the motor noise of the ventilation unit consist of long waves. We recommend a muffler of one meter, then the low tones can hit the walls well and are absorbed by the hose in this way. High tones occur, for example, when talking. Those have shorter wavelengths and so you have to absorb them with a shorter attenuator or hose."
Again, this shows: every situation is different and so there is always customized advice. Panflex is a Dutch company with a Dutch production site, which allows it to move quickly in providing customized solutions, Kale explains. "We have a solution for every situation, and if there isn't one, we'll make sure there is one."
