With Circle Living, CascoTotaal introduces a circular housing concept that moves with the housing demand of now and later. The flexible and modular homes can be easily and quickly deployed, moved and/or adapted, depending on time, function, place and user. In this way, CascoTotaal creates a sustainable housing solution that adds value again and again. Made to stay and designed to change.
“Circle Living originated from the conviction that living can be smarter and more sustainable,” explains CascoTotaal's product manager Jeroen Adriaansen. “The concept is a logical sequel to our circular Circle concrete cascoes, around which our building partners developed their own concept. An approach that led, among other things, to the successful Modulo homes by V&V Bouw and HIVE Flex homes by Bouwgroep Peters. Yet many contractors were also reluctant, because of the learning and development costs they had to put into the concept upfront. To eliminate this pre-investment, we investigated whether we could not bring together the Modulo and HIVE Flex concepts into one new and widely accessible concept. V&V Bouw and Bouwgroep Peters were very positive about this and shared their extensive knowledge, on the basis of which Circle Living was introduced last June.”

Whether it is housing for starters, families or seniors, in temporary area development or permanent living environments: the basis of each Circle Living home is the concrete shell. A solid, durable structure with a detachable finish, making it easy to modify the layout, installations and finishes, says Adriaansen. “Compared to previous concepts, Circle Living offers even more standard floor plans that can be freely combined. In this way, we create homes that are even better suited to and move with changing housing needs and developments.”
The modular housing concept responds to any housing need. “The homes are designed to link, mirror or stack, making them suitable for a variety of target groups and housing types,” Adriaansen emphasizes. “From compact studios to spacious family homes or apartment buildings, Circle Living offers the freedom to vary within one well-thought-out concept.”
Circle Living not only enables circular construction, but also circular living. “The home retains its value at all times because the foundation is not lost but moves flexibly with time. Thanks to the modular design, the homes can easily be adapted, expanded or even moved. Thus Circle Living makes circular and future-oriented living possible, in every context and for every housing need. The concept is completely detachable, robust and designed for reuse.”

On the website www.circleliving.nl, construction companies can find all information about the housing concept. “To support them, we can also provide exactly the right construction details,” Adriaansen said. “But also any structural calculations of our shell or a model to calculate the finishing costs in advance.” This finishing concerns, for example, the sanitary installations and facade finishes, he says. “Here any facade finish is possible, but in practice we find that prefabricated facades are preferred. From wood frame construction to sandwich panels, stone strips or completely biobased.”
To roll out and sell Circle Living, CascoTotaal is working with a national network of construction partners. “By now, the first four contractors have joined,” says Adriaansen. “Moreover, numerous discussions are still taking place. Construction companies that are also interested in this are cordially invited to get in touch.”
