With the finishing work in full swing, Landmark is getting more and more of its luxurious look. ACN Totale Afbouw installs the walls and assembles the ceilings here, mostly with curves.
With 5,000 m2 of walls and 4,000 m2 of ceilings, the completion of Landmark is an extensive job for ACN Totale Afbouw. This involves special challenges. "The round shape of the building has a lot of impact, both on the walls and ceilings," says Thomas Jacobsen, business manager of ACN Totale Afbouw. "The curves in the walls were created using shingles. This bending technique using curved elements was carried out in cooperation with an interior designer. The ceiling tiles in the entrance - Rockfon Color-all band grid type ceiling - also required extra attention due to the curves. To create a calm image, lighting and sprinklers were incorporated into the band grids here. The space in the middle was completely filled with custom panels due to the round shape. That required a lot of engineering."
A challenge of a different order was transportation. In the eighteen-story tower, all elements for walls and ceilings had to be transported upward by elevator. Especially for the drywall (2.6 x 1.2 meters), this was a matter of trial and error. "Now there is a lot of knowledge and experience within ACN Totale Afbouw," says Jacobsen. "The company was created by the merger of five finishing companies. As a result, we find the best solution for everything. Also the location - five branches spread across the country - is favorable. As a result, ACN Totale Afbouw is always close by. These factors together ensure that we are now a strong, fast-growing organization."
