Custom assembly of distribution devices

Eltech Paneelbouw supplied the four main energy distributors for PLUS Supermarkten' new distribution center in Deventer. These are cabinets suitable for 3,200 amps and each distributor includes a coupling for the solar panel installation.

Eltech was founded in 1990 and now employs about 20 people. "We work mainly in commercial construction and for various installers," says owner Steven Segers. "But you'll also find us in residential construction, schools and office buildings. We assemble energy distributors for the more luxurious residential construction where, for example, a home automation system is installed to the main distributor of a large distribution center." Eltech has been a Legrand partner since 2006 and therefore assembles Legrand switching and distribution devices. Eltech provides custom assembly and machining of the copper work at its own production site in Breda. "In recent years we have also been busy with the energy transition. Just think about solar panels and battery storage and what influence that has on our products."  

The request for this project for PLUS Supermarkets came through Van Hees Elektrotechniek, says project manager Erik Koopman. "Van Hees is a long-standing relationship of ours and we work together regularly. At this distribution center, the 3,200 amp main distributors are placed and connected by Van Hees. This project will also require several sub-distribution boxes at a later stage of construction. We hope to receive an order for those as well in the near future."

This is quite a big project for Eltech, especially in terms of power. Says Segers, "Ten years ago we had to think three times about whether we could handle this, now we can handle it just fine. We moved to new premises last year where we can accommodate this kind of project more easily and have the right machinery and enough staff to take on this kind of project." Eltech likes to think along with the customer about solutions and works very service-oriented. Koopman: "We are a flat organization and every customer always has the same contact persons. This allows us to be a good partner for our customers because we really do it together."
