Kloosterboer turned to Westfalia Logistics Solutions Europe for the engineering and production of the warehouse systems at its new, fully automated high bay Cool Port 2 warehouse in Rotterdam.

"This is not the first project commissioned by Kloosterboer. We know what the logistics provider wants and our systems function without problems in areas with temperatures down to -25°C. Here, too, we are responsible for the conveyors and automation software. In this six-aisle high bay warehouse, pallets are delivered by conventional or self-unloading trucks, after which they are automatically transported to the warehouse via roller conveyors, turntables and locks. Once on site, cranes place them on one of the 60,000 pallet locations," says international project manager John van Dijk. "The operation of this warehouse is linked to the WarehouseExecutionSystem Savanna.NET®. Each order is entered into the system, after which the goods are taken from the warehouse to a super-fast intermediate warehouse with approximately 1,000 storage locations. Finally, they are transported to the shipping department exactly as they should be loaded into the trucks at the docks using electric pallet trucks."
