Facade construction is a combination of technology, precision, challenge and craftsmanship. At De Gier Geveltechniek, that combination is central. André de Gier started out self-employed and built his company into an established name in facade construction. "I once started as a temporary worker and now I own a company that carries out complex projects. But one thing has always remained the same: my love of the trade," says De Gier.
In 2008, De Gier began working as a temp at a facade manufacturer. He worked on renovation projects, learned the trade from the inside, and after a few years decided to go self-employed. "For years I hired myself out to large facade builders and subcontractors. But I wanted more; a new challenge," he says. He found that challenge in 2020, when he made the move to do projects himself. His company grew quickly, with several large projects and a team of freelancers under him. "At one point, all I was doing was arranging and managing. That's important, but I also really wanted to stay busy with my hands," says De Gier. He now manages a permanent team of six young, enthusiastic professionals, and his company continues to grow slowly. "In everything we do, we strive for perfection."
De Gier Geveltechniek focuses entirely on the assembly of aluminum facade systems. The team works with aluminum frames, curtain walls, element facades, skylights, facade cladding and flashings. "We do it all, which makes us unique," explains De Gier. For assembly, the company uses its own glass vacuums and, in the future, its own glass robots and mini cranes. Thus, even the most complex facades are installed efficiently. In addition, the team has extensive experience with plastic window frames, renovation, new construction, typesetting and insulation.
One of the strengths of De Gier Geveltechniek is direct communication. Customers connect directly with De Gier himself. "I'm always there. It's my business, I have to be available," he says. This ensures short lines of communication and quick decision-making. The way we work also sets the company apart. "We work efficiently and very hard, but cleanly. We don't deliver until everything is really good. Our clients appreciate that." That dedication keeps clients coming back again and again.
De Gier Geveltechniek has collaborated on several high-profile projects. One of the eye-catchers is De Noordkade in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, where an oval facade was realized with a combination of curtain walls and cladding. Currently, the team is working on the sustainable residential complex Elzenhagen in Amsterdam. In addition, De Gier Geveltechniek has an important role in the development of Centrumlijn Noord in Pijnacker, where timber frame elements and structural frames are prepared in the factory and then assembled on site. With a broad project portfolio, De Gier Geveltechniek demonstrates time and again what the company stands for: hard work and a neat finish. "Striving for perfection is the most important thing for us," De Gier proudly concludes.
