Gyproc Netherlands introduces Gyproc LOOPD®: the first remountable Metal Stud® wall system

Until now, Gyproc's gypsum walls were suitable for single-use and then to be recycled. This is now changing. With the introduction of Gyproc LOOPD^® all Gyproc walls constructed with plasterboard are remountable and the various building components can be reused. Fire, sound and stability performance remain guaranteed. The building materials of today, also become the building materials of later.

As a manufacturer of interior plaster systems and products, we are aware of our role in making the shared living environment more sustainable. Remountable walls due to the detachable joint

The joint finish of the Gyproc LOOPD^® wall system is detachable from the wall after use. In this way, the screws become visible and the Metal Stud^® wall are easily disassembled for reuse or recycling. 

"That makes these our most durable walls yet. And not only that! We are working together towards a world with less use of new raw materials and more use of existing materials. With this innovation, we are taking a big step towards achieving the various goals set by Saint-Gobain, our parent organization, to become fully CO₂-neutral and contribute to a circular economy," Van Houten said. 

Reuse of the various building blocks of Gyproc walls

The degree of reuse depends on the type and state of disassembly. Standard Gyproc plasterboard is reusable 1 to 2 times, the stronger DuraGyp plasterboard is reusable about 3 times and the very robust HABITO^® Plasterboard is reusable approximately 5 times. Gyproc Metal Stud^® profiles can be reused approximately 3 times. Fire, noise and stability performance remain guaranteed with screw holes in the drywall. After use, all components are fully recyclable. 

Getting started right away with Gyproc LOOPD^® wall systems

In the Gyproc Selector, the most common Gyproc wall systems are listed as LOOPD^® wall system included. The Gyproc Selector allows you to easily select the right wall and ceiling system and search by system and by application. The information in the Gyproc Selector is always up-to-date. Also, a BIM object of each system is available in the Gyproc BIM plug-in. This unique plug-in is available for Revit (2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022) and Archicad (23, 24 and 25).
