A pleasant working environment goes beyond an attractive design. That's why the Nijburg Industry Group provides a good climate installation in the field of air technology at BWRI Sappemeer. An extra nice project because it involves its neighbors. The fittings come from sister company Solid Air Climate Solutions.
The Nijburg Industry Group is a Dutch family business with its own production facility, specializing in the manufacture, supply and installation of total solutions for a healthy and comfortable indoor climate. For BWRI Sappemeer, Nijburg Klimaattechniek is supplying and installing all of Solid Air's air ducts and ventilation fittings. This involves 1,300 square meters of ductwork and 1,400 meters of pipe. Appendages supplied include fire dampers, volume controllers and grilles. "The nice thing about this project is that our colleagues from production get to experience the construction process. BWRI is almost next door to our company, it is in fact in our backyard. We drive past it every day and see the building coming out of the ground," says Robert Degen, project manager at Nijburg Klimaattechniek.
From the production site in Sappemeer, all products are prefabricated. This means that no machining work needs to take place on site. Degen: "Because we assemble all the sections in the factory, it arrives as a construction kit. We no longer have to saw and grind on site. We have special prefabricated carts with a tarp that we bring to the construction site. There, everything is unpacked so that the products can be processed neatly and dust-free."
Because all contractors work from an IFC model, any problems are seen and resolved in advance. "We started work at the beginning of May, and scheduling is the biggest challenge. All components have to be delivered and assembled on site at the right time. We started in the workshop and recently started with the front, which consists of new construction. Thanks to the software and pleasant cooperation, the project is running smoothly."
