Integral cooperation in security

DJ Hekwerk & Toegangscontrole is involved from design to commissioning in the construction of SC Cambuur's new stadium and the area development around it. "Commissioned by construction company Van Wijnen, we provide the four open corners of the stadium with closing fencing and gates with a height of 4 meters. We are also fitting out the parking areas around the stadium on behalf of the municipality of Leeuwarden, for the safe separation of visitor flows," says owner Johan de Jong.

DJ Hekwerk & Toegangscontrole takes care of the complete engineering and assembly, in cooperation with all parties involved. De Jong: "That starts with a specification of the order. You can imagine that fencing around a stadium has to be vandal-proof. Van Wijnen, SC Cambuur and the architect obviously also have ideas and wishes. You try to find a way through these together on the basis of expertise and cooperation. You can want to make an aesthetically pleasing fence 4 meters high with only vertical posts, but then you don't take vandalism-sensitive outside influences into account. Therefore, in this case a horizontal beam was chosen to reinforce the bar sections. In addition, the difficult soil conditions required an additional foundation provision in which Van Wijnen played a role, with a poured foundation beam equipped with anchors. In the end, the assembly was not that complicated. All fencing and gates were precisely calculated and drawn to the millimeter. We specialize in combining fencing with access control systems."

Growth market

DJ Hekwerk & Toegangscontrole had a similar collaboration with developer and main contractor Van Wijnen when building the new factory of prefab homes for Van Wijnen itself in Heerenveen. "Then you look into each other's kitchen in good cooperation, and that good cooperation was continued in Leeuwarden," continued De Jong. "We are strong in work preparation and planning and can draw in 3D, which fits together. With regard to the fencing, the stadium is pretty much finished; we have received an additional order from the municipality of Leeuwarden for the fencing in the stadium area." That is another new challenge, where visitor flows need to be separated. "In the first place those of the various users of the stadium - such as students of Firda, SC Cambuur, visitors to stores but also the various streams of supporters." It remains a special assignment, in a growth market. "Security and access control systems are indispensable in today's built environment."
