'Going beyond the ordinary'

The new residential building Fibonacci, currently rising against the center of Amsterdam, will feature balcony glazing and fire-resistant glass from glass manufacturer vandaglas.

vandaglas b.v. is an independent building glass transformation company. The range extends from high quality multifunctional insulation glass for a home to custom characteristic facade glazing for architectural buildings. The product range is completed by the many single-glazing applications such as glass canopies, balustrades, doors, (LED) mirrors and partitions. 

Laminated safety glass for balcony glazing

For residential tower Fibonacci, vandaglas supplied balcony glazing to balcony railings supplier Cepu Constructions B.V., explains Account Manager Laminated Glass Iris Receveur. "We supplied laminated safety glass: 850 m¹ of railings, which is about 500 m² of glass. Our customer takes care of the assembly. Because this project had a short construction time, it was very important that we delivered each delivery in a specific order, on time and complete. We produced and packaged the glass per floor." The building has eighteen floors and the work took place from top to bottom. A logistical challenge on a construction site with limited space. The glass had to be delivered at a predetermined time so that it could be processed immediately. "We tailor our service to the customer's needs. Our slogan is not for nothing: 'Going beyond the ordinary.' We have a solution for everything."

Why did Cepu choose vandaglas? Receveur posed this question to its client. The result was a resounding answer, with which vandaglas is very happy: "Fine cooperation, reliable supplier, flexible with deliveries and good coordination for the project. What is also special is that this project went flawlessly just-in-time. Our customer in turn also saw no points of improvement: everything ran flawlessly'. "Surely that is a nice compliment," said Receveur. 

Fire resistant glass

In addition, vandaglas also supplied fire-resistant glass for the project, says Account Manager Take Amsing. "We work regularly with WEBO, which installed the glass on this project. They often come to us for fire-resistant glass and special dimensions. In short: for anything that needs more expertise." vandaglas supplied more than 800 m² of fire-resistant insulation glass. It has both a high level of glass expertise and the necessary certifications in-house. "The fact that as a Dutch company we work with Dutch standards and have the certification well in mind is an advantage for our customers. We are always happy to take a look. The customer knows which fire resistance level is needed and we then look at which glass is suitable per project and even per frame. In this way we ensure as much unity as possible in a building, also in terms of appearance. Of course, we also offer after-sales service. Should a window break, we can quickly re-supply it."
