For fire separation, contractors must be able to demonstrate that a door or frame construction is fire and smoke resistant. For windows and exterior doors to be opened, there is a mandatory CE certification (EN 16034), which is often not available.
WEBO was the first supplier to obtain this CE certification for 30-60 minute fire and smoke resistant wood-aluminum frames and doors (complete system). This allows the required fire performance to be demonstrated upfront in the construction process and eliminates the need for an expert statement. Contractors are also better prepared for the Quality Assurance Act (Wkb).
The fire tests were carried out by Peutz, in accordance with EN 16034. In order to be able to realize various designs in practice, Peutz has prepared an extended scope (ExAp). In the new brochure of WEBO are all classifications (EW, EI1, S200 & SA), configurations and sizes are displayed in a convenient way.
In a fire separation system, windows and external doors to be opened must be CE marked according to EN 16034 (supplement to EN 14351-1). This involves a completely tested system, from which the contractor may not deviate in practice. This frequently creates problems because various components of the frame and door construction are often purchased from multiple suppliers. In such cases, the fire resistance must be assessed by an independent inspector. The complete CE Certified Wood-Alu-Frame® (windows and doors) offers a solution in this regard.
With the aluminum on the outside, the WoodAlu-Frame is® low maintenance, which makes it particularly suitable for high-rise buildings. The interior wood is not exposed to weathering and can be provided with a transparent finish. Furthermore, the Wood-Alu-Frame achieves® a U-value of up to 0.64 W/m2.K, making you NOM compliant and ready for 2050.
Also in projects where fire-resistant partitions are required - such as porch flats, schools, hospitals and offices - the Wood-Alu-Frame® applied.
