Plastic roofing with better solar panel output

Eurofast and A. van Diessen Dakbedekkingen B.V. have been working together for years. Where Van Diessen provides the roofing and insulation, Eurofast supplies the screws. This partnership made it almost logical that Van Diessen also performed the roofing for Eurofast's new commercial building.

With approximately 5,000 m2, the roof of Eurofast's new business premises has a considerable surface area. It was up to A. van Diessen Dakbedekkingen B.V., commissioned by Bouwbedrijf van de Ven, to provide the waterproofing here, consisting of roofing and insulation. "This is a nice example of what we are good at as well," says Robin van Diessen, director/owner of A. van Diessen Dakbedekkingen B.V. "A roof in utility construction with high-quality insulation and suitable for solar panels."

Plastic

Plastic roofing was chosen. Van Diessen explains the choice: "Bitumen roofing is usually chosen in residential construction and plastic roofing in commercial construction. This has to do with the practical application of the materials. Plastic roofing comes in rolls of 30 m2. This makes it less labor intensive and the roof is already watertight with just one layer. With just a few roofers, we install a high-quality roof, done according to professional guidelines. Moreover, the white, plastic roofing ensures a high reflection value, i.e. a better yield from the solar panels. This has to do with the SRI (Solar Reflectance Index) value. There is increasing demand for this roofing material, also because of its durability. An ideal product, a recognized roofing company, a trusted partner and client complete the picture.
