Commissioned by main contractor BAM, Impro Techniek carried out the plumbing work for Doorlaatpost (DLP) 90 at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. From rainwater drainage to sanitary facilities and fire extinguishing systems. "We are proud to have been asked to do this," says Impro.
The new crossing point allows companies to deliver goods to the airport. Here every bus and truck is pre-registered and checked on site. Bastiaan van der Mooren and Jeroen van Haren, owners of Impro Techniek: "It is a substantial structure with a large roof with solar panels. On that roof we installed the gutters for the rainwater drainage. The roof is 4.5 meters high, so we prefabricated the gutters in advance and installed them with an aerial platform. Next to the culvert is another small building for employees, for which we did the plumbing and made beautiful plumbing."
Because the project is just outside the secure zone, security measures were not too bad during the work, the two say. After Passage Point 90, plumbing work for the adjacent pass issue will also follow. All in all, a long-term project for Impro Techniek, says Van Haren, who is primarily involved in calculations and design within the company. "This made the planning in particular a challenge: the project runs for a long time, but there were not very many hours in it for us. BAM thinks along well with its subcontractors in this regard, which works fine for both sides. That way we were there at the right time every time."
Van der Mooren, who handles project supervision and execution of works within Impro Techniek, adds: "We greatly appreciate being allowed to work for BAM on this project. We are now continuing with the same project team on another project at Schiphol Airport. We are proud to have been asked to do this as well. That does show that we are getting bigger and better."
