Rodruza has become the first Dutch facing brick manufacturer to receive the KOMO certificate BRL 7010. The official presentation took place at the Zandberg production site in Gendt by inspection institute Kiwa. This recognition confirms that Rodruza demonstrably uses renewable river clay in its production process. An important milestone for the family business, which has been combining craftsmanship with innovation and sustainability for centuries.
“At Rodruza, we work every day to make our products more sustainable,” says Martijn Berendsen, manager of operations & technology at Rodruza. “This certificate makes visible what we have been doing for years: making high-quality facing bricks with conscious material choices.”

Clay is the main ingredient for producing bricks. Enough of this is available in the Netherlands when mined responsibly, but not always accessible. In addition, about 55% of the clay is renewable, these are clays from the Dutch floodplains. Natural processes of erosion, flow and sedimentation continually replenish the clay layers. Responsible clay extraction provides space for the river. This contributes to nature development, biodiversity, flood safety and promotes the circularity of our products.
Architecture deserves facing bricks that can be both beautiful and future-proof. With BRL 7010, we show that the naturally durable product can go in perfect harmony with responsible resource extraction.
