Sustainable commercial vehicle workshop for Companjen Bedrijfswagens: 'We were able to align our disciplines well'

On April 5, construction company Webbink began construction of a new industrial hall for family business Companjen Bedrijfswagens, complete with workshop, car wash, office and showroom. Companjen Bedrijfswagens specializes in livestock trucks, trailers and semi-trailers. With the move, the company will return to Vriezenveen, where it all began. Hamer Installatietechniek from Apeldoorn took care of the complete technical installation for the new building, including the new workshop equipment, electrical installation, HVAC installation, fire alarm installation and an intrusion installation including camera system.

To prepare the premises for the future, Hamer has installed charging points at the parking lots and prepared the premises for solar panels. At the moment, it is not yet possible to install solar panels because, due to an adjacent solar meadow, there is too little capacity left on the electricity grid to be able to feed back. The building was delivered gas-free and is heated with a heat pump.

Design and collaboration

Hugo van den Berg, project manager at Hamer, has been involved in the execution of the project from the moment it became commissioned. "It is a beautiful and challenging project, in which we were able to align the various Hamer disciplines well," he says. "Think of the workshop equipment, electrics and HVAC installation."

Workshop equipment

The workshop is equipped with two 22-meter prefabricated lubricating cellars, which were made in England and brought here in sections. On site, the parts were put together and assembled as one unit. The unique feature of the lubrication cellars is that they are connected to each other and through a basement. In the basement between the lubrication pits, mechanics have direct access to, for example, a compressor and oil sump. In addition to the lubrication cellars, a Diamond elevator and Skylift have been installed in cooperation with Stokvis. The workshop equipment was delivered complete with reels from Hamer Reel Technology.

Electrical installation

The premises are also equipped with an electrical system, complete with gate control and intrusion system. If desired, the gate can be opened remotely by cell phone. The security system secures the building against burglary and, with the help of cameras, monitors the premises.

Phillips LED fixtures were chosen for interior and exterior lighting. Inside, this has become a combination of LED panels (other rooms) and surface-mounted fixtures (workshop). To properly highlight the grounds, street lighting was mounted on light poles and on the building itself.

HVAC installation

To heat the entire building as efficiently as possible, Hamer installed a heat pump system in combination with underfloor heating. The special feature of the underfloor heating system is that it can both heat and cool. On very hot days, the heat pump system is supported by air conditioning. For the rainwater drainage, the Pluvia system of Geberit was chosen, which guarantees fast drainage of rainwater by means of negative pressure.

In early November, Hamer delivered the installations in the new industrial hall to Companjen.
