The new MC55 curtain wall: slim, fast and cleverly installed

With the MC55 series, Aliplast is launching a completely new curtain wall system that responds to today's demands regarding aesthetics, efficiency, execution options, performance and durability.

So the MC55 is not just an upgrade of our existing facade systems. We have thoroughly studied the entire curtain wall system: what are the future needs in the market, what can be optimized ? We spent two years developing and testing it to meet the most stringent standards in terms of wind and water tightness, burglar resistance, acoustics and load bearing capacity. At each step of the development process, we also strived optimally for a more efficient production and installation process for our partners.

The new MC55 is the result: the name refers to the slim face width of 55 mm. A slim look that scores aesthetically, but at the same time allows large glass weights: large spans of 7 meters are no longer an obstacle. The MC55 can be made in 2 ways, either a straight cut or a stepped cut version.

We are currently launching the MC55 and the more insulating MC55 Passive, but we are not sitting still. We are developing additional versions in abundance: the highly insulating MC55 Passive+, the fire-resistant MC55 and the MC55 Glass which can be used to create optically all-glass facades.

Projects underway

The new MC55 is currently being integrated into a number of great projects: the VITAZ hospital in Lokeren, the new LAGO swimming pool in Bredene, Ugent's KUBES campus in Kortrijk and the new Lecot Biermans building in Breda. Lecot Biermans' striking 6500 m² building includes a store, offices and logistics center and was designed by Oomen Architects. The facade construction was carried out by Willy Naessens and JM van Delft & ZN. In addition to the curtain wall, Star75 fire-resistant RSI doors were also installed. We were able to switch exceptionally fast for this beautiful project: because we perform all important processes, such as extrusion, powder coating and thermal rolling, in-house at 1 location, we have short and above all very reliable delivery times. The decision was made in February and 5 weeks later the first facades were already on site.
