WHY FIX AFTER THE FACT WHEN YOU CAN PROTECT IN ADVANCE?

We already know Spuitfolie B.V. for its smart, sprayable protective coating Spuitfolie®. But did you know that the company also excels in basement sealing? Especially in underground parking garages - where groundwater pressure and concrete cracks pose major challenges - Spuitfolie B.V. offers a rock-solid solution. Thanks to its powerful coating and proven spray technology, every basement becomes watertight.

It started with Spray Foil®: a liquid film that protects building materials from dirt, dust and damage. "Why repair afterwards when you can protect in advance?" has been the motto for years. Meanwhile, Spuitfolie B.V. applies the same technique in an entirely different discipline: basement waterproofing. "A totally different field," says co-owner François Sinke. "But the spray technique remains the same. Thanks to our experience with coatings and concrete, we were able to switch quickly."

Underground hazards require firm sealing

Building below ground level means dealing with groundwater and associated pressure on walls and floors. Even a small crack in the concrete can cause leakage. This is precisely why reliable basement sealing is crucial. "If you don't handle that properly, you're really missing out," warns Sinke. Spray Foil B.V. opts for a preventive approach: prevention is better than cure. With a dry basement, you can outsmart many problems.

Seamless solution for basements

For underground parking basements, Spuitfolie B.V. uses a liquid, elastic seal coating. This is sprayed directly onto the concrete in several layers. After curing, a flexible bitumen layer is created that moves with the substrate and bridges small cracks. This is especially important where the floor and wall meet - this is precisely where leaks often occur because the floor and wall are poured separately from each other and thus do not form one whole. "It works on virtually any substrate," Sinke explains. "This creates a completely closed tub construction, without seams or weak spots."

Perfect preparation, guaranteed results

Successful basement waterproofing begins with a clean, well bonded substrate. Only then is the coating sprayed on in layers until the proper thickness is achieved. "At least 24 hours of curing is required," Sinke explains. "And we only work in dry weather. Rain is really a no-go." It seems logical, but it underlines the expertise of the team that knows exactly what is needed for a durable, watertight end result.
