Lommers Welding Service realizes for contractor Van Hattum en Blankevoort at the new bicycle shed in the IJ a large number of anchoring and support constructions according to NEN-EN 1090. The welding company uses a unique methodology and also leads a number of strategic partners.
Lommers Welding Service was called in at an early stage to shed its light on the anchoring construction, stair elements and joint transitions, among other things. "Under our direction and the very short line of communication with Ingenieursbureau Kok and van den Heuvel, which falls under our NEN-EN 1090, we are able to eliminate early the errors that normally arise quickly during preparation and execution," says Gerda Lommers of Lommers Welding Service. Tom van den Heuvel can also confirm this and adds: "It has been a great experience to be allowed to make the design calculations and drawings for various steel, concrete and wooden components within the complex IJboulevard project. This project once again demonstrated that it absolutely pays to involve construction expertise in the design. The constructability of the structures was already tested during the design phase. Due to short lines between design and execution, after agreeing on the starting points, the turn could also be made directly to execution designs and production drawings."
From welding according to NEN-EN 1090 execution class 1, 2, 3 and 4 with possible CE and/or ROK, performing welding renovation work, cutting and (dis)assembly to building and renting floating pontoons and work rafts. Lommers Welding Service is of all trades and extensively certified, including VCA, ISO 9001, 3834 and 17660-1 and soon to be Step 2 on the Safety Culture Ladder. "Thanks to strategic cooperation with established partners, we are able to offer clients an integral and manufacturable solution," Lommers continued. "That is truly unique for a welding company. For example, we also jointly adapted the initial detailed design of the anchoring structure of the storage facility in the IJ. Depending on the situation, we then perform the work in our well-equipped welding and construction hall in Purmerend or on site with one of our fully equipped mobile workshops for this purpose."
MABA Waterland is another of Lommers' strategic partners. The company has extensive experience within the GWW with wood, concrete and steel work. "For the IJboulevard project, we installed a significant part of the steelwork produced by Lommers Welding under NEN-EN 1090 and with CE," says Bas Pronk of MABA Waterland. "Because of the cooperation already during the design phase, we were able to bring in possible bottlenecks at an early stage, as a result of which the placement went smoothly. In particular, the sliding structures between the bicycle basement and the existing structures were a challenging task. All parts of these were produced separately by Lommers Welding and had to be placed on site with a small dimensional tolerance. By working with various molds, this was accomplished to the fullest extent.
satisfaction succeeded."
Regular partner SHW, which specializes in applying paint systems in a wide variety of conditions, is also only too proud of its contribution to the complex project in the IJ. "We don't shy away from any challenge," says Leon Burger of SHW confidently. "Commissioned by Lommers Welding, we fitted the plates for a walkway with an anti-slip system. This is a very special system that is also used on aircraft carriers. The result is to everyone's satisfaction, and that's what we do it for." Lommers also looks back on a wonderfully successful project and concludes, "Thanks to a strategic cooperation with permanent partners, we are able to completely relieve clients of their worries with an integral and feasible solution. We continue to constantly develop and focus on both high quality, safety and the latest standards, and this in an environment where we put the family feeling first."
