The HoutAlu-Kozijn® has an attestation for 30-60 minutes of fire-resistant window frames. This puts WEBO ahead of the market and offers a solution to meet the legal requirements to prevent fire penetration and spread (WBDBO) in a building.
The Building Code imposes specific fire safety requirements on the facade when the building is close to the plot boundary, apartments are located one above the other, or when there is an internal corner. In such cases, the structural components must have a resistance to fire penetration and spread of at least 20, 30 or 60 minutes. By the WoodAlu-Frame® incorporate into the design it is possible to meet the most stringent requirements.
In addition to fire resistance, the unique composition of wood and aluminum offers unprecedented possibilities. For example, the aluminum is maintenance-free on the outside and the wood is not exposed to weathering on the inside. This allows the wood to be provided with a transparent finish, giving an attractive and warm appearance in the building. Due to the unique design of the HoutAlu-Kozijn®, both hard and softwood species can be used such as mahogany, oak, spruce, Accoya®, larch, etc.
With a U-value of 0.64 W/m2.K., the HoutAlu-Kozijn® meets the BENG and NOM requirements. The window frame can be well applied within the framework of Passive Building.
