In the heart of the Netherlands, from a solid base in Nijkerk, Bomecon operates: a family business with a vision. Driven by the passion of brother and sister Martijn and Sabine van den Bor, Bomecon offers pioneering solutions in lifting technology. Since taking over from their father a year ago, the company has gained a new impetus, combining years of experience with fresh innovation.
Dirk van den Bor started Bomecon in 1988 as a sole proprietorship. "I was only five years old when the company was founded. The workshop was our backyard, so I could always be found in and around the company," says Martijn van den Bor, who is now in charge of operational matters within Bomecon. "We have grown since then, but we still carry our family values," says Sabine van den Bor, who is responsible for general operations. "These values manifest themselves in a close and pleasant working environment, where everyone knows each other and works together toward the same goal."
What makes Bomecon unique? Its ability to provide customized lifting solutions for every conceivable situation. "Almost everything we rent, we have developed ourselves," explains Martijn. This ensures that Bomecon always thinks one step ahead and optimizes efficiency and safety of projects. For example, Bomecon plays a crucial role in projects with the introduction of innovative systems, such as the Maxi-Steker 2 10,000 and the Vita Load Navigator. These advanced technologies are currently being deployed on the busy streets of London, where they are revolutionizing the accurate placement of façade elements. "Our Maxi-Steker 2 10,000 with Vita Load Navigator ensures that a facade element can be placed with millimeter precision, even in locations where there is minimal space to maneuver or where obstacles are present, such as above the railroad tracks or over people's heads," Sabine explains. "This system significantly speeds up the work process and increases safety, which is invaluable in complex urban environments."
Another key product from Bomecon that is currently making a big impact is the 4D-Balancer. This innovative system, developed specifically for precast housing construction, allows precast units to be placed in a balanced manner using a frame equalizer. "The 4D-Balancer is a huge added value for housing construction, as it not only increases safety, but also speeds up the work process," Martijn explains. "Thanks to this technology, precast units can be placed quickly and precisely, leading to more efficient construction projects."
That Bomecon is ahead of the curve is a fact. The company is always one step ahead of the industry. Even before a problem arises, Bomecon already has the solution. Also in the field of sustainability. "That subject has been high on our agenda for years. Since 1996 almost all of our machines have been running on batteries. Even before sustainability was trendy, we noticed that it is also very practical," says Martijn.
Bomecon's ambitions reach far and wide. Ten years from now, brother and sister hope that Bomecon will be known worldwide as the go-to partner for lifting technology issues. "Our goal is for it to be taken for granted around the world that there is a safety tool from us next to every crane," Martijn says with determination.
