It is no secret that sustainability and innovation are becoming increasingly important. Therefore, these are two core values that are highly valued at stainless steel cable specialist Kabel Design. The cable solutions bring structure and greenery to the urban construction sector. Owner Peter Huijbregts passionately explains how a small one-man business has grown into a pioneering leader in the field of façade greenery and stainless steel networks.
Kabel Design has been designing applications with stainless steel cables, stainless steel cable mesh networks and stainless steel fabrics since 2006. The products are used in green guidance, architecture and safety and by a variety of clients: from architectural firms and construction and building companies to sports clubs and green companies. What began as a one-man business led by Huijbregts has grown into a successful company. "Four years ago I started a partnership with my business partner Niels Coertjens," Huijbregts says. "That paid off: together you get further. In fact, things are going so well that we would love to expand our team."
With an impressive product portfolio, Kabel Design makes bridges, stairs and homes safer, the streets greener and the appearance of buildings more modern. There is a strong focus on sturdy stainless steel cables for infrastructure projects and cable mesh networks. Its flagship product is the cable mesh network for green guidance, which guides and supports ground-level façade greenery in a sustainable manner. "In this we are frontrunners in the Netherlands," says Huijbregts. "This strong, light and corrosion-resistant whole is an excellent climbing aid for all kinds of plants. We make the stainless steel cables and cable mesh netting ourselves, so we can tailor it exactly to the customer's needs on a project-by-project basis."
In addition to greenspace, Kabel Design offers a wide range of stainless steel fabrics. "We order these to size from GKD and then we also take care of the assembly," Huijbregts explains. RVS fabrics are often used for functional and decorative facade applications. Think of facade panels that serve as sun protection or as an aesthetic addition to a building. The fourth component of the product portfolio is plastic products. These include nets for ball games and cloths to protect crops.
What makes Kabel Design unique? Its personal approach. "One day we are sitting at the table with the client and the next day we are on the aerial platform ourselves," says Huijbregts. This approach ensures short lines of communication and quick, practical solutions that fit in well with the client's needs. And that characterizes Kabel Design: a truly hands-on character and the ability to switch gears quickly. The future dreams of Kabel Design are promising. The company continues to continuously innovate and grow and therefore awaits new talent with open arms. "We are looking for people with passion for the profession," Huijbregts emphasizes. "We don't stand still and always continue to innovate."
