Keep it cool, get the best

Customer care from A to Z. A construction focus, with coordination on installation techniques and systems. And: use of first-class materials, state-of-the-art cladding, high-insulating door systems and the latest technologies. B-Built is the Design & Build specialist for the refrigeration and freezer storage sector. Both in the Netherlands and abroad. The more than 30 employees design and realize high-quality tailor-made concepts, regardless of the nature, size and project location. Functionality, sustainability and logistical efficiency are at the forefront.

Optimal efficiency, high-quality end result

"Since our inception in 2008, we have designed and implemented more than 800,000 temperature-controlled pallet storage locations, with more than 6 million m3 construction volume and fully supportive of our clients' business processes," says Martijn Baartmans, owner of B-Built. "This allows clients to remain focused on their core business. Because we have ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and VCA certification, we are also the preferred partner for BREEAM projects. At B-Built, clients are assured of highly involved and skilled project leaders, work planners, supporting project coordinators and site managers, who are fully dedicated to one specific project. But also from one specialist partner and one guarantee party for the development of their complete cold store or freezer house. All for the sake of optimal efficiency as well as a high-quality end result. This makes us unique in the market."

During the construction of the new cold storage warehouse for Northfreeze, themes such as transparency, efficiency, quality and sustainability are central. In this, CubeCold, Northfreeze and B-Built know how to find each other well.

Northfreeze in Evergem

In 2024, B-Built has once again been able to add a number of fine references to its impressive record of achievements. As an example, Baartmans mentions the realization of a new cold storage warehouse for Northfreeze, part of the CubeCold group, to be delivered in the first quarter of 2025. This project at North Sea Port Gent in Evergem will increase Northfreeze's storage capacity by 54,000 pallets, effectively doubling Northfreeze's total capacity. B-Built is responsible for elaborating the design and complete execution, in accordance with BREEAM ambition 'Excellent'. "During construction, themes such as transparency, efficiency, quality and sustainability are central," says Baartmans. "In this, CubeCold, Northfreeze and B-Built know how to find each other well. Moreover, a mix of local and international construction partners ensures a good anchoring of our cultures in the realization of this project. It goes without saying that we only work with the very best materials and techniques. Together with ABT Belgium and our project partners, we drew up a keen design for the precast concrete and steel structures. The walls, roofs and doors with high insulation values and extra-flat interior floor for the mobile racking system (Class II) are good examples of this."

Lineage in Bremerhaven

In Bremerhaven, B-Built is building a new and high-tech coldstore warehouse for Lineage, with a gross floor area of 19,000 m2 and space for approximately 40,000 pallets. "For this repeat client, we are providing both the design and construction of the new warehouse," says Baartmans. "In addition, we are responsible for the design and realization of the electrical, mechanical and sprinkler systems, in accordance with BREEAM ambition 'Very Good'. This project also uses high-quality materials, as well as a mix of concrete and steel structures. A special feature is that 7,500 deep drillings were carried out as part of the 'kampfmittelfreigabe'. Here, local authorities set requirements for conducting research into the presence of any explosives, which may have been left in the subsoil after World War II." The coldstore warehouse in Bremerhaven should be fully operational in the first quarter of 2025.
