More than an ecologically sound floor

As part of the Twintec Group, Twintec Netherlands specializes in the installation of steel-fiber reinforced industrial floors. The globally operating company always works to the local standards of the countries in which it operates. "With our own professionals, machinery, research and engineering department, we continue to innovate constantly, both in the field of the environment, our machinery and in optimizing the designs of our own engineers," says Marieke Pitlo of Twintec Netherlands proudly. "The goal: to produce customized, ecologically sound and sustainable floors all over the world. We do this according to the Design - Build - Guarantee principle."

Design: Twintec has its own Research & Engineering department, where floors are designed to the client's requirements. These designs are geared both technically and practically to the operational wishes of the client and in accordance with local requirements and standards. Innovative techniques and applications are also worked out here. 

Build: with well-trained employees, the latest machine technology, specially designed equipment, experienced project-building management and logistical skills, the designs are executed. 

Guarantee: with Twintec, one is assured of both sound internal procedures and on-site quality controls and conclusive documentation. "We offer a high service level, even after the floors are delivered. And, of course, a 10-year warranty on the floor," says Pitlo. 

Recycled fiber

Twintec continues to work on solutions that benefit the environment. A great example is the Twincon fiber, developed and produced in-house. "It is a recycled fiber that can be used instead of and in combination with the 'traditional' steel fiber," Pitlo explains. "By applying this fiber in, for example, the Twintec Ultimate (the hybrid floor), a serious reduction in CO₂-emissions realized."

In addition, Twintec is testing with so-called Bio Curings (biological paving materials) to protect both the environment and employees in this. "This application also has a positive impact on the CO₂-emissions," said Pitlo and continued: "The machinery has now been expanded with the TS6100 e, our electric mini laserscreed with 0% emissions. A giant leap forward for both employees and the environment. Slightly smaller than its big brother, but certainly as efficient. The TS6100 e can even be fitted with electric polishers that we have also worked with recently. These too are not only better for the employee, but also for the environment."

"To ensure continued floor durability, we can apply the Twintec Plus to our industrial floors," Pitlo says. "Either to give new life to an old industrial floor or to make the floor ready for the future. Maintenance and cleaning can be easier. Twintec Plus is a specially developed environmentally friendly and dust-binding liquid that penetrates deep into the concrete floor. It actively bonds with the free lime particles in the floor. This also improves floor compaction and hardness. All in all, it is a sustainable and ecological solution because it uses the components already present in the concrete floor. This process makes the floor completely dust-free, and the high light reflection values reduce energy consumption. Again, this application has a positive effect on CO₂-emissions. In short, Twintec is not only building on the road (floor), but certainly on the future."
