Following on from the more standard rolled cladding, Metal Cladding Systems has been the address for custom cladding for years. In close cooperation with architect VAN AKEN - part of Sweco, for example, the facade specialist from Ingen developed the high-end facade cladding for the new logistics center with head office of car giant Van Mossel in Waalwijk, which meets the very latest environmental standards. "Van Mossel attaches great importance to sustainable construction, with an eye for the environment. The project was therefore realized with a BREEAM sustainability certification," Zaat knows. "The facade cladding fits this seamlessly. Very early on in the design phase, the systems from Hans Laukien GmbH came up for discussion. In consultation with the architect and with facade builder Damu Systeembouw bv, we worked out a unique pattern."

Unique to Hans Laukien GmbH's systems is the freedom of design and dimensioning. "In theory, the architect can have his own profile type made," Zaat said. "That's what happened in this project as well." The chosen profiling consists of two wave forms pressed into a variable pattern. "Based on this pattern, we made about four variations and pressed them in bronze-colored coil anodized aluminum." By assembling the panels "randomly," a special kind of wildlife bond was created. "Combined with the unique building shape, a true icon has been realized along the A59."

Special shadow play

Another unique calling card for Metal Cladding Systems and Hans Laukien GmbH is Theater De Kattendans in Bergeijk. For this project, architect Diederendirrix from Eindhoven was looking for an eye-catching, innovative and durable aluminum cladding that could be draped around the building like a curtain. "For this project, we pressed no less than three wave forms in six patterns," says Zaat. The color Onix White Gold plays with the sun. This creates a special shadow play at any time of day. "Thanks to our cladding, the dated theater and community center building from the early 1990s has been given an interesting, striking and almost futuristic new look, while retaining the characteristic planes and lines of the original style."
