The Soest-based company has now finished the Zilverlinde and hopes to complete the shell construction of both the Koningslinde and Witte Linde buildings around the construction period. Both buildings have thirteen floors.
This project is being handled in a construction team with the client on a category 5 basis. This means that MBS Cascobouw is realizing the engineering, production and execution of all interfaces between the precast elements, the in-situ cast-in-place beams and walls of the parking garage, as well as the engineering, production, bracing, assembly and pouring of the wide slab floors.
MBS Cascobouw is part of the MBS Group. MBS Group is known for innovative and creative (precast) concrete solutions. Within the organization, MBS Cascobouw has specialized in realizing the total shell construction of concrete structures. The contractor is completely unburdened.
The project was designed in BIM. Willem Keuken, project manager of MBS Cascobouw: "For this project, the design was conceived in an in-situ concrete shell. In collaboration with Van Boxsel Engineering, we adapted the design to a precast concrete shell. This yields significant gains especially in construction speed. Furthermore, we include issues such as logistics, way of working and optimal layout of walls in our considerations. We have all the knowledge to add value to the construction process right from the design phase. In addition, we owe our clout on the construction site to our experienced employees and the factory in Vianen, which makes our process run smoothly."
A wrap-around scaffold is used during assembly. This scaffolding is used as edge protection for the floors. MBS Cascobouw is also applying the latest techniques in this project to safely assemble the wide slab floors. For this purpose, an unloading platform was built and the floor slabs go up securely. PAL towers are used to support the beams and the support of the floors is done with outriggers. Fall-through decks are used for the elevator shafts so that safety for employees is also ensured here.
MBS Cascobouw is supplying approximately 1,100 precast elements, including mainly walls and columns, for project "the Linden. These are already fitted with pipes and center boxes in the factory. Keuken: "Residents' wishes are incorporated into the elements by our engineering and coordinated with production." According to him, precast concrete is getting an increasing share in construction. "During the design phase, this building system is increasingly chosen. The efficiency during the construction process and the construction speed of the precast system make the choice to prefabricate the design more interesting. It can also be easily tailored to the occupants' wishes and special requirements of the client."
