Platform on new construction, renovation, restoration and transformation
"We were involved in the project team in 2017 by main contractor De Vries en Verburg, which had to convert the Program of Requirements into a tender document for the selection process. The architect made the sketch design and we integrated the installation concepts," says Michel van den Mosselaar, calculator-designer at Klimaatservice Holland. "De Vries en Verburg was awarded the contract and put together a construction team, which first had to optimize the file budget-wise. In consultation with the client and installation consultant M3E, we made the necessary adjustments."
After approval of the Preliminary Design, the Final Design and building permit application for Block A and B were arranged. After the demolition of the first part of the existing residential care center, construction work for Block A was started at the end of 2019. In the next phase, the rest of the old building will go under the demolition hammer and Block B and C will be realized. "Block A consists of four floors with 11 care apartments each. A heat pump system from Mitsubishi Alklima per floor provides heat for the 11 care studios, while a central balanced ventilation system combined with an air handling unit from AL-KO Luchttechniek realizes good air quality in the building," explains project manager Elco Nederlof. "In Block B, the 35 apartments spread over five floors are combined with a brasserie on the first floor. Therefore, the technical installations are also split up. The brasserie will have underfloor heating linked to a heat pump system and balanced ventilation through an air handling unit in the technical area. The care apartments will be equipped with electric heating systems by the electrician and individual Zehnder WTW units will also be installed for ventilation."
