Minimum energy costs, maximum living comfort

In the Muziekbuurt neighborhood in Rijswijk, energy measures and maintenance work are being carried out on ten residential blocks with a total of 288 multi-family dwellings. An important part of the work is the insulation of the outer shell. Commissioned by Willems Vastgoedonderhoud, Technisol Isolatie is insulating all blocks with cavity wall insulation. The insulation specialist from Wijchen is also insulating the ceilings of the storerooms.

The work is carried out per residential block, explains Laurens Loenen, Technisol's business manager. "We always start with the insulation of the cavity walls. In one week the entire cavity is provided with insulation wool. A conscious choice, because insulation wool was already present in the cavity walls. However, this insulation was very outdated. Moreover, the wool was no longer in the right places. Thanks to our work, the cavity wall insulation is upgraded to a high standard, which means that all the cracks and seams are neatly sealed again and perfect insulation is guaranteed."

To prevent cold from the storerooms from penetrating into the homes, Technisol Insulation specialists are also applying a polyurethane foam under the ceilings of the storerooms, which also form the second floor. "Here we are using our innovative Pur'fect RWF/HFO system; a polyurethane rigid foam with a closed cell structure and excellent insulation value," Loenen said. "In the corridors, the insulation foam is neatly finished with wood cement wool boards." This work also takes about one week, he says. Partly thanks to the work of Technisol Insulation, the houses will soon have an energy label jump to A or B. "In addition, residents will save substantially on their energy costs and experience greater living comfort. Cold and draught complaints are no longer an issue."
