"At the Oranjewoud project, we did most of the lifting work in mid-2020," says Leon Smit, Commercial Manager of Schot Vertical Transport. "At the 24 patio houses, we performed a lot of lifting work with mobile telescopic cranes ranging from 60 to 100 tons and with mobile tower cranes from 38 to 44 meters. We also performed a lot of scaffolding and roofing work with a 48-meter mobile tower crane. In recent months, we have been there regularly with a telescopic handler to bring in kitchens, among other things."

Schot is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. The company does many fine projects for Van Wijnen, Smit says. "The work is very varied and differs per project in size. The cooperation with Van Wijnen is always very pleasant, you notice that in such a long-term cooperation you get used to each other and strengthen each other."

Striking masonry in rolling buildings
Masonry largely determines the appearance of a building. That is why Oranjewoud Wonen opted for masonry with continuous grouting, i.e. mortar and grout in one. Responsible for this fine piece of craftsmanship was Schuler Afbouwgroep from Emmen.
In addition to the masonry work, Schuler handled the exterior wall stucco work, bonding of the sand-lime bricks, bonding of the stone strips, tiling and caulking. It was a big project for the company. For a year and a half, between 24 and 30 Schuler employees were on site. "The standing masonry work was a challenging job, as were the curves in the facades. Schuler Afbouwgroep is proud of the final result. The facade stucco really completes the building," said the executives of Schuler Afbouwgroep.
When you enter the homes for sale, you immediately see the quality of Schuler Tegelwerken. There, they installed Jura Grau natural stones in courses. Schuler also took care of the tiling of the bathrooms and toilets in all homes, both on the walls and floors. Works Manager Leon de Koning: "We often work for client Van Wijnen Gorredijk and once again the cooperation was extremely pleasant. Oranjewoud is a very nice reference project."

Aluminum window frames for high comfort
The aluminum window frames for the 136 apartments and 18 bungalows of Oranjewoud Wonen were engineered, produced and assembled by Polybouw Aluminium B.V. of Rijssen. This involved no less than 4,100 m² of aluminum window frames. A great project for this supplier of top quality.
"The construction was carried out in several phases. Polybouw Aluminium delivered high-quality insulating window frames of the manufacture Kawneer. The window frames are equipped with triple glazing, for the highest possible comfort," says project manager Bé de Vries.
Polybouw performed the work on behalf of Van Wijnen Gorredijk. This is a well-known client for Polybouw. De Vries: "We work nationwide for various branches of Van Wijnen. It has been a good construction partner for us for many years, with whom we experience a pleasant cooperation. In the preliminary stage, we had intensive contact with each other and also during the assembly, the communication was satisfactory. We started work in October 2019 and are currently in the completion phase of the last block."
