Safe and efficient vertical transportation of people and goodsPassenger and freight elevators are an essential part of the logistics flows on a project. People and materials must be able to be transported safely without breakdowns or delays. Mol Lifting is happy to contribute to this. "Our technical teams are fully equipped, excellently trained and certified and deployable for elevator (de)assembly, service and maintenance at the most diverse project sites," says Project Manager Vertical Transport Peter Jan Zwakhals. "Here, applicable standards, procedures as well as safety protocols are strictly followed."
Mol Lifting representatives like to be involved at an early project stage to determine the most appropriate vertical transport solution for each project and location. "In this, we expressly take into account the type of materials to be transported, as well as dimensions and weights, intensity of use, distances to be bridged and any transportation of construction site employees," Zwakhals said. "In close cooperation with the contractor, we also look for the most suitable location for the elevator installation(s). In doing so, we take into account both the anchoring and logistics flows, creating an optimum in terms of safety, capacity, efficiency and price. Among others, project Pontkade on the NDSM wharf in Amsterdam, Sluishuis in Amsterdam and The Minister in Rijswijk are illustrative of this service."
"As an organization, we regularly work on behalf of the Volker Wessels companies," says Zwakhals. "The good experiences of the past led recently, for example, to the awarding of project The Minister. Commissioned by construction consortium The Minister V.O.F. (Kondor Wessels Amsterdam and Kroon & De Koning), we were able to supply a customised twin elevator for this stately residential tower, with two elevator cabins on one mast. Because the twinlift could not be anchored to the facade due to work activities, Dutch Steigers developed a customized scaffolding in cooperation with us to which we could anchor the elevators properly and safely. The twinlift was constructed in several stages to a height of 80 meters. The closed elevators each have a lifting capacity of up to 2,000 kilograms and are suitable for both passenger and freight transport. The elevators are callable on every floor. 2×22 stops, a clear touch screen with floor numbers and sophisticated controls guarantee optimal vertical logistics."
The elevators will remain in place until the end of the project, says Zwakhals. "After disassembly, the elevator cabins, mast sections, sliding gates, motors and controls are thoroughly checked and tested in our workshop in Dordrecht. Maintenance work is carried out where necessary, after which the elevators are put back into service on the next project."
