"The first BREEAM 'Outstanding' design certificate is in!

While on the outside the contours of the gigantic Van Acht building were becoming visible, v.d. Vleuten Elektrotechniek & Beveiliging was working at full speed on the inside. Everywhere they did preparatory work: pulling power and light current cables, assembling cable ducts and laying the infrastructure for the installations to be installed later. 

"Initially, our assignment consisted of installing the electrical infrastructure," says John van Lankvelt, project manager of v.d. Vleuten Elektrotechniek & Beveiliging. "This included connecting the new transformers and distribution boxes to be installed and the lighting installation. Some time later, the assignment was expanded to include the security installation, access control installation, sound installation, camera installation and charging stations. As a result, as installer on this gigantic project, we connected just about everything a cable needs. This suits our proposition as a total installer, although with this project it did create enormous time pressure." 

An additional challenge was the BREEAM certification and in particular achieving the "Outstanding" score according to the BREEAM 2020 assessment guideline. "This version of BREEAM has hardly been applied yet. This made it a regular puzzle, both for us and for our suppliers. The guideline relates, for example, to site lighting and charging stations, but also to solar energy generation," Van Lankvelt said. "Now that we are nearing the end of the project and have met all the requirements, we have achieved the BREEAM 'Outstanding' certificate!" 

"This makes the Van Acht distribution center a great reference project. It is a large project where an extremely high quality was delivered in a relatively short time and all facets of our field passed by. Surely you want to attach your company name to that!"
