'These measures create a beautiful, sustainable building'

A considerable task in the construction of DC Distripark Maasvlakte is reserved for Vink Installation Group. It is laying the W- and E-installations that are sustainable in all respects and meet the high standard of BREEAM 'Excellent'.

Vink Installation Group provides the entire distribution park with underfloor heating using a low-temperature pipe system. This system is heated with a heat pump on the roof, whose residual heat is used as additional heating at the edges of the office. "After all, this is where most of the cold comes in," explains Remco Domburg, chief assembly officer of Vink Installation Group. For the regular distribution of heat and cold, Vink installs the Variable Refrigerant Flow system, better known as "VRF. "If the sun on one side creates excess heat, it is automatically transported to the other side of the building."

The water system will be equipped with solenoid valves. As soon as a tap runs too long somewhere, the manager will receive a message. With the use of motion sensors, lighting will also remain on only when rooms are in use. "This total of measures creates a beautiful, sustainable building," Domburg says. "An additional challenge is the bifurcation of the building. We provide both halves with the basic installations. If a tenant comes forward, we expand it with customer-specific installations."
